The Olympics start tonight with an opening ceremony in London. I have fond memories of the whole family in front of the TV watching every televised moment. This was a time when there were only 3 stations and no computer or mobile devices. It was the only thing on! I remember one year we even invited the neighbors over to watch it with us. It was a big deal.
During the winter Olympics in the 80's, I remember rushing home from church to watch the US hockey team win the gold. The last summer Olympics was about Michael Phelps and all his gold medals. I wonder what this year's contest with hold?
